Andrew Gibson (2020 Old Town Bigwater PDL 132), Jason Duca (2020 Vibe Shearwater 125), and I (2020 Old Town Bigwater PDL 132) decided to do some kayak recovery and re-entry practice after spending the early January day chasing Lake Erie Walleye. After 8 hours of constant trolling from our kayaks, we put our fishing gear away and launched back out onto the lake to practice our safety and rescue skills.
Drysuit test day was a success!! Jason Duca and I met up at the Emerald Necklace Marina to put our cold water safety gear through the paces. It’s very important to always test your gear and prepare for the worst case scenario. We were able to add some very valuable experience to our kayak fishing tool belt today. “Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor” Video coming soon! 🎣🎣 Air temp 18° feels like 3°, Water temp 32° cold water kayak safety kokatat drysuit
